MyTryOnStudio Chrome extension - Privacy Policy

This extension is published by MyTryOnStudio and works with your existing MyTryOnStudio account. It is not a separate service from mytryonstudio.com - it is another way to reach the same account and the same Studio feature you already use on the website.

What the extension reads from a page you visit

On a built-in list of major retailers: nothing - it only shows a button. On those stores (for example Myntra, Ajio, Amazon, Nalli, Pothys, Macy's, H&M and Zara) the extension adds the MyTryOnStudio button to the right edge of the window. Showing it reads nothing from the page. The extension remembers, on your device only, where you have closed or hidden the button. It has no access to any other site until you click its icon there (below).

The one product photo you pick. On any other store, clicking the MyTryOnStudio icon in Chrome's toolbar asks Chrome for permission to read that one site - Chrome shows you this request and you can decline it; if you approve, it is remembered for that site. Then, when you press "Choose product image" in the side panel, the extension highlights images on the page as you move your mouse and captures the one you click. That photo is the only page content the extension ever sends anywhere.

You can close the button for the session or hide it on any site ("Hide for this website"), restore a hidden site from the side panel, and restrict the extension's site access at any time from Chrome's own extension settings (chrome://extensions - MyTryOnStudio - Site access).

What gets sent to MyTryOnStudio's servers

When you generate a try-on:

  • The URL of the product photo you picked, and the photo's page title or alt text (used as a starting guess for the product's name, which you can edit).
  • The kind of item you chose to try on (clothing, jewellery, a blouse, shoes or a watch), so the try-on places it correctly.
  • The photo of yourself you selected or uploaded from your MyTryOnStudio photo library.
  • Your MyTryOnStudio account's sign-in tokens, so the request can be attributed to your account and charged against your points balance, the same as a try-on made on the website.

We do not read, log, or store anything else about the pages you browse. We never see your browsing history. Nothing on any page is read, sent, or stored except the one image you click in pick mode.

Where that data goes after it reaches our servers

Your photo and the product photo are sent to the AI image-generation providers that power Studio (currently Google's Vertex AI and OpenRouter, which in turn routes to a small number of underlying model providers) solely to produce the try-on image. The result, and a copy of the product photo, are stored in our systems the same way any try-on made on mytryonstudio.com is - visible in your own "My Studio" history, deducted from your points balance, and deletable by you at any time from that page or by deleting your account.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. It is used only to provide the try-on feature you asked for.

Deleting your data

Delete any generation from your "My Studio" history at any time. Delete any uploaded photo from your photo library at any time. Deleting your MyTryOnStudio account deletes both.

Sign-in

Signing in opens a MyTryOnStudio web page in a normal browser window - not a form inside the extension - so you can verify you're really looking at mytryonstudio.com before entering your password. The extension never sees your password; it only receives a session token once you've signed in on that page.

Who this extension is for

This extension is for trying clothing and accessories on a photo of yourself. Do not upload or use a photo of another person without their permission.
